YouthBuild

As many of you know, I have started a new job with BCFS (Baptist Children and Family Services, www.bcfs.net) in Kerrville. I am the case manager for a new program called YouthBuild (www.youthbuild.org) and we are seeking applicants.

This program is designed to help troubled youth from the ages of 16-25 that have dropped out of high school and/or have been in “trouble.” This program is designed to help those youth who have dropped out get their GED or their High School diploma. At the same time, they will build a home for Habitat for Humanity and will get certified in various fields of construction. They will also be compensated with a stipend for their time; so they will learn and get paid.

There is also an opportunity for people in this age group to take part even if they have graduated or attained their GED so no one inside this age bracket will be turned away for an application and interview.

This is a great opportunity for the age group this covers to become employable and learn a trade while attaining their GED or Diploma. This is not a “handout” program and there is an intricate process for admission to the program, but for those who are searching for betterment in their life and have a passion for various fields of construction, here is their opportunity! There are some particulars that will be worked out in the application process but if you know anyone that might be interested in this program, please send them to our office in Kerrville(1105 E. Main Street, Kerrville, TX 78028, Office: 830-896-0993 Fax: 830-896-1071) or have them e-mail me (brad.golden@bcfs.net).

Please forward this to people on your e-mail list as I am really wanting to get the word spread!
